Maths was my favourite subject to teach, though I admit it was to junior school children. I enjoyed it that much that I took a 2 year Diploma from the Mathematical Association. The thought of using literary language to complicate the beauty of symbols, equations and relationships is shocking: it can't do justice to the maths or the written word.

I am in awe of anyone who can tackle university maths: I remember struggling to make sense of differentiation and calculus. I know already of your wonderful handling of the written word, now I bow down to your maths brain!
