In other news: waiting for the rep from Plumbs, the upholsterers, to see what can be done with our 3 piece suite.

I haven't been writing about The Great Upheaval because I tend not to record daily experiences here (that's what a diary's for) but we started redecorating in the Autumn and have 90% of the upstairs floor complete now. Today marks the start of the mammoth task of redecorating the living/dining room which runs from the front to the back of the ground floor. Colours! Driving me mad and, therefore by default, driving Gav mad as well :) Such fun!

:D I've heard you speak and I'm pretty sure you and I don't sound all that similar!

Oooh! Colors! My favorite thing when it comes to decorating--I have box full of those little squares and tabs of paint colors---and like a child, I will sometimes pull the box and and look through them, sorting and playing with how they look together, how they might change the aspect of a room. Absurd, but a lot of fun.

Finally chose burgundy and 'gold' for the suite and 'gold' curtains. Next job is choosing paint 'cos Gav decided to start stripping the wallpaper today. Then it's carpet choosing time!

I saw the most beautiful wool carpet yesterday--bright, bold flowers, which, if you will ask anyone, is sort of outside my normal taste for such a thing as a carpet (at least as far as wanting it for myself.)

Debra loves the home shopping channels and QVC is often on (like background noise to me). Sometimes things catch my eye--like THIS (http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/app.nav/params.class.A909/walk.yah.0101-4719). Probably nothing at all like you need anywhere, but hey, you never know--it comes in many sizes. Also, these pictures do it no justice...they looked much more vibrant on telly.

Burgundy & gold...very elegant. Lestat would approve!
