Thanks, Val. MRI results were back yesterday. She has a lump on one of her kidneys and a smaller one on her liver. The word 'cancer' was used but atm they can't tell whether it's benign/malignant/aggressive. The onchology team is going to have a meeting to sort out a strategy, always bearing in mind she's 83 and probably doesn't want the kind of treatment they'd offer someone in their 30s.
She's chattering away as normal and has some appetite back for soups and custard. My sister (the nurse) phoned the kitchens direct and asked if Mum can have TWO soups per meal instead of one and a main meal that she couldn't face. They said 'of course' so she's been having her two soups and is happy about that :)
She's staying in hospital for now and has plenty of visitors.
