Feeling blue...
Well after an exciting few days all is back to normal...too quiet.
Jenn went back to York this afternoon. She rang to say she'd got back okay and was at Mark's house. I bet he's missed her. It's the longest they've been apart for 4 and a half years!
There was a moment last night at the pub when Gavin had gone outside for a smoke, that Mother and Daughter had a heart to heart. I know she and Mark had had a sticky time a few months ago wondering whether they should keep seeing each other as 'lovers' or just be good friends. I asked how things are and she actually looked bashful! Things are great, apparently, and that's wonderful news.
So now I have a week off work to myself. Ha Ha Ha! I don't think sooooo!
Two enormous tasks that I've kept putting off have to be done this week:
1) Gavin's accounts--yuck, finger down throat, it's a dirty job but someone's gotta do it! Jenn needs the figures for her application for next Sept student loan (and that should have been sent off last Friday--Whoops!).
2) Reports--double yuck, don't get me wrong I love my job and most of the children are great to work with but I do HATE all the blessed paperwork and this'll take f***ing ages this year as there are 32 of them.
Time for a mass DVD watch I think--shall it be LotR all in extended version, or Queer as Folk (UK followed by US) or the next box of HIghlander??

QasF
I have seen all of the first series of QasF (US) on Sky 1 years ago and found it to be almost identical. The writer(s) took the whole UK story and dropped it into US unchanged. Very courageous, I thought. How did an American audience take to it? How did the press react?
Go on ebay or Amazon and you'll be able to pick up the UK version (8 episodes) then QasF 2 which is one long story--"For God's sake Stuart, don't shag the bridegroom."
If you manage to see the UK version you'll recognise all the characters instantly just under different names. Stuart=Brian, Vince=Michael and Nathan=Justin.
I picked up the first 3 series of the US version on ebay a while ago and haven't sat down to watch them yet. Thanks for the heads-up about Season 4. I hate it when really good ideas become franchised out. They're never the same again. Except... Russell T Davies is God! Three years ago he bullied/persuaded the BBC that he was the one to bring back Dr Who (there's a nerdy bit about Vince being a Dr Who fan in QasF) and it is fantastic! There's a spin-off show now called Torchwood based on one of the other characters and played marvellously by John Barrowman (who is also gay! Why are all the best-looking men gay? Go on 'google' him. My first icon was him from the series.). I'm in danger of rambling on here, forgive me. You've made me decide--it will be a marathon QasF watch, possibly followed by Dr Who and Torchwood. Cheers!

Is Queer as Folk any good? I've ran out of things to watch and picking something new out is soo difficult!
QasF
I WILL watch LotR in one go one day but I will need an attendant to bring me food and water so I don't have to stop!
Re: QasF
I've decided to watch LotR in the kitchen using a projector, that'll keep me close enough to the fridge and I won't have to take my eyes of the .. elves
Found the first 8 episodes of UK QasF version on the internet, gonna get right to it then :)
