Britain's biggest and best-loved common carp, Benson, has died. The 64lb fish was caught 63 times in her 13-year career. Tony Bridgefoot, owner of the Bluebell Lakes complex near Peterborough, discusses the life and death of the fish voted Britain's Favourite Carp.

Can you imagine that in your garden pond? My late (former) father in law had a lovely garden pond with carp. There was one big albino one whom I named 'Enoch Powell'. When I took my son to England when he was 9, years and years later, Enoch was still there, bigger and just as white as ever. =) =)

I didn't even know Britain had a best loved fish. It's a shame that he died, certainly with a suspicious death like that.
