Thrills to come this autumn!
Sep. 23rd, 2010 12:35 amGav is going south for 4 days to play trains. He has a steam engine for 7 and a quarter inch gauge track. Yawn.
So tomorrow I am going first class on a standard gauge diesel train to York for 6 days R&R with Jenn and Mark. Yeah! They both have taken time off work so we can do all sorts of touristy things and she can spend my money.
Return 28th.
29th going to see 'Vampires Rock' in Southport with sister, Yvonne. Should be great fun.
1st October, brother and family coming for a weekend visit to see Mum and Dad so I've managed to gather 10 of those that missed the last retirement meal to meet on 2nd for an afternoon meal then 7 of us are going to Southport for the evening for the Annual British Musical Fireworks Competition. Seven firework teams will be competing--should be fantastic!
8th Gav and I will be going to Liverpool Empire to see 'The Rocky Horror Show'. Love that show. Must have seen it half a dozen times over the years. Brad--Asshole! Janet--Slut!
More to come in November. :D

I see what you mean about the "won't you get bored ?" thing. I always got twa.. *cough* people at work moaning about having to take their remaining holidays, or saying their did some work for the job at night because they were bored ! It used to puzzle me when I was young and innocent, because I was always so frustrated about my own To Do list, but now I'm just used to it. Listening to kitchen conversations, it seems that most people are interested in virtually nothing, so it kind of makes sense in a twisted way that they don't know what to do with their time!
Anyway, retirement sounds like a cool job to me, enjoy it :)

Date: 2010-09-24 08:12 am (UTC)I know what you mean about those folk who have nothing to do. I'm one of those whose house illustrates their interests: books, games, dragon figures etc. Sometimes, I visit houses that are so spick and span they look like show homes and I wonder where the books are. Can someone have a life if they have no books?
Retirement is making me feel so young!
