Snooping's fine. I'll pass on your comment. She has a permanent job in a clothing store because being a penniless artist doesn't put food on the plate. She does have a super-duper sewing machine and is experimenting with making clothes with a difference.

Her Irish grandma had hair so long, ikn her youth, that she could sit on it. I think that's where it comes from. I'm envious because mine has a natural length of just below my shoulders.

the green hair's a nice shade of green but tell you what, I was wondering what kind of job she had where they let you have green hair but was too polite to ask ! :) Mind you, I suppose if you get green hair after being hired, they can't really sack you for it :)

Is there a artist studio group or coop where she lives that she could join? My ex is in one, and they have a monthly market where people sell all kind of things (handmade jewelry, felt things etc...) They sell fine art too but the useful/wearable items are more popular. Some other places even have shops sometimes. You can't live on it but it's a start and you get your stuff seen.

The firm she works for started in Sweden in the 50s before coming to UK. They have stores all over the world now, H&M. They have a no-uniform policy, prefering their staff to show their own individuality. She can wear anything she wants as long as her clothes are not advertising a rival brand. Her hair and piercings are embraced by the management as features of her personality. They like to attract a similar sort of customer. 5 weeks holiday a year, discount perks and above minimum wage. Perfect job for her for a few years anyway.
