So, I went out at 8am as I usually do to welcome back the sun for the New Year but unfortunately there was a low bank of cloud obscuring the view. Some nice snowy pictures and the full moon, though.
Ta. You should see the icicles along the edge of every roof. Our longest is nearly 3 feet long, which is a surprise because we didn't get icicles in the snow last January. I think it's been a lot colder at night: -8C here most nights and -20C in parts of Wales and Scotland.
These are so beautiful! It's about 50 degrees F here in Seattle and I am actually pining away here staring at these photos because they look so perfect.
I know, right? I only wear a scarf and gloves as fashion pieces, not because I actually need them right now. =( I think it's because on one side there's the water, and then we're fenced in by mountain ranges that take the brunt of any harsh weather coming our way.
So jealous of these photos, haha. Has it been snowing recently or is it cold enough where you are for it to not melt?
It snowed once for eight hours last Friday and hasn't begun to thaw. Thank goodness, there's been no more snow to make driving worse than it already is. Have a great Christmas!
Thanks. I feel fairly confident with scenery. I bow to yourself as mistress of the botanical close-up :) Best wishes to you and Debra and the menagerie for Christmas xx
Did you think I would leave you alone? Tsk. You really should know better than to assume I tire easily in any regard. I'll expect you at the forum then? Here is the address in case you've forgotten: http://ldelioncourt.yuku.com/

Date: 2010-12-22 08:23 pm (UTC)I'm working in a place in St. Helens that has the most gorgeous rolling fields nearby. The morning mist is just something else. Lovely.
And yay for solstice! Back to the light, northern hemisphere, back to the light!
