Long weekend away...

in York, leaving the husband alone here looking after himself, ah poor thing. Relying on him to open the door to Hallowe'en knocks, sweets and pumpkin all arranged for him :)

Train to York tomorrow afternoon arriving at 5:36 IN THE DAAAAAARK!!! Staying with Jenn and Rich for the first time as Mark now has his ladyfriend living with him. Seeing him sometime on Saturday evening.

Saturday matinee at the Grand Opera House to see The Addams Family: the Musical with Jenn! Hurray, good Hallowe'en fun.

Returning Sunday midday.

Hoping to repeat the performance at the end of November to catch The Importance of Being Earnest at the same theatre.

NINE weeks to Christmas! Must go to the Christmas Angels shop in York! It's open all year round but I'm never in the mood for popping in until this time of year :D

was Halloween popular where you were? lots of people knocking to get sweets? lots of treat or trick?
it wasnt so in my country, such a shame but I did wear a costume for the fun of it :) I enjoy this Holiday very much, so I could never miss an opportunity.

'Twas a wonderful show! The whole theatre staff and even the audience were dressed up. That comes from it being on a Saturday this year, giving the parents time to get costumes ready and faces painted :)

Yes, Hallowe'en is very popular here. The husband did stalwart duty: 4 tealights burned down in the pumpkin and only a small handful of sweets left. Visitors from 5pm till 8pm.

AND ANOTHER UNEXPECTED SURPRISE!!!
I knew that Jenn and Rich were going to see Motley Crue and Alice Cooper in Manchester tonight but last weekend the plan had been to drive back to York afterwards. I arrived home this afternoon (after going with Mum to Liverpool Law Courts to present my Dad's will for Probate) to discover that the daughter had rung the husband to say there was a change in plan and they were coming home for the night! Yay!!!

I didnt know Halloween was that popular in Britain, back when I lived there it didnt seem that way to me, but it was perhaps where I was.
