 Well, seeing as how New Year's Day 2008 started hours ago on the other side of the world, I don't think I'm too premature in saying 2008 has got off to a good start. The bank did me a good deal sorting out my credit card today AND I had almost an hour talking transAtlantic to someone I've never spoken to before! Gairid, what a fantastic conversation that was and what a good job we don't live in the same town--what gossips we would be! Thank you for making me feel so welcome. 

I'd better go rooting for the coal, bread and salt so Gavin can First Foot us.

Happy New Year (again)! It was great to talk to you today---you're right, we'd be yapping all the time if we lived closer; still, thoe phone is handy that way, eh?
