Nostalgic giggling...
Mar. 8th, 2011 11:58 amWe've been redecorating since Christmas. The upstairs is complete with new bathroom suite, new bedroom furniture and my own little purple haven. Can't send pics yet because each room that is finished then becomes a storeroom for the contents of the next one to be done etc.
Just thought I'd say I could be offline for a few days as we are now stripping the big room downstairs, which is a through living/dining room and that's where the pc is. Suite is going to be reupholstered, new fireplace chosen and carpet to be picked out by the end of the week. I intend that the house will not need touching for the next ten years! Retirement tax-free lump sum is dwindling fast!
Here I am, stripping wallpaper and, yes discovering the plaster needs to be redone as with every room we've tackled, whilst listening to old audiotapes before binning them (possibly).
Currently, it's the audiotape of 'The Rutles: the story of The Pre-fab Four' presented by Eric Idle. I had forgotten how clever and accurate a parody this is. The music is so of-the-time and I find myself nodding and giggling in turns. Those of you of my age will know what I mean. I don't think this one will make the bin! Unless Amazon have it on CD?
