No this is the big bad! A team of two will be in for two days to observe lessons, scrutinise planning and work, and discuss the pupils' achievement/progess compared with the rest of the nation. We always do well on the pastoral/caring side of things and usually well on the lesson side of things but our children at the age of 11 do not compare favourably in academic achievement with the rest of the country. The school is in a very deprived socio-economic area with a high proportion of dysfunctional families, drugs and alcohol problems etc. However, that's not an excuse because similar schools in other towns do better, So we'll wait and see. By next Friday it'll be over.
